The couple decided to offer human sacrifice and Rajashekhar happened to see a baby lying alone on the roadside in Bhoiguda on January 31 and abducted the baby girl who apparently was left unattended by her parents.

On the night of the total lunar eclipse, which he believed was auspicious time, Rajashekhar beheaded the baby with a knife and threw the torso into the stream.
