With false information regarding Irrigation Minister Harish Rao quitting the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) to join BJP is being spread over social media, the Minister has sought the help of police to take action against it.

Condemning this malicious campaign against him, Harish Rao requested DGP M Mahendar Reddy to initiate criminal action against the impostors responsible for spreading fake news.

A morphed screenshot of a news channel logo with the news of him joining BJP began circulating on WhatsApp since Thursday night.

He told the media that people with political motives were spreading false rumours about him quitting TRS but clarified that his loyalties remain with TRS and President K Chandrasekhar Rao and asserted that his political life would end with the party.

The Minister even shared that despite repeated clarifications, the social media campaigners are trying to continue to create a rift in the party and hence he has decided not to respond to such baseless rumours.
