Hyderabad: Sanitary employee returns Rs 1 lakh to shop owner

A sanitary worker who found Rs One lakh in cash in a dustbin managed to return it back to the owner in Jagitial district.

The employee, Maddela Lakshmi worked at a local vegetable market and found a small envelope in the dustbin when she was cleaning the trash in the market on Tuesday night.

She discovered that there was an amount of Rs One lakh cash in the envelope and took the cash home.

However, she returned to the market the next day with the envelope and saw a man anxiously searching for something near the dustbin.

After inquiring him regarding his search, she came to know, the man, Javed, a chicken shop owner had mistakenly thrown off the envelope with cash in the dustbin.

She immediately returned the money and Javed, in recognition of her honesty, presented her Rs 5,000 as a reward.
