A PhD student from University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been rusticated for six months over his alleged misbehaviour and indiscipline towards an assistant professor.

A PhD student from University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been rusticated for six months over his alleged misbehaviour and indiscipline towards an assistant professor.

The student, Linga Swamy Baikani was also imposed a penalty of Rs 30,000 as per the rustication order with the entire UoH campus including Hostels rendered out of bounds to him.

Two other students, Hakeem, pursuing MPhil in Comparative Literature, and Thahir Jamal, a PhD scholar of Comparative Literature were fined Rs.10,000 for complicity.

The rustication order further warned the students to focus on their studies else ‘serious repercussions on the academic career of the students’ would be faced.
