According to the reports, the deceased, Zaibunnisa after finishing her ablution (Wazu) went to pick up the towel hanging on a wire in her courtyard.
However, with the wire coming in contact with electric current due to rainfall after an electric wire disconnected and landed on the wire on which the wet towel was hanging.
In an attempt to save his mother, Mohammed Shakir Ali also got electrocuted and died on the spot.
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao was inaugurating Dialysis Center at the Zaheerabad Government hospital when the dead bodies were taken to the same hospital. Coming to know about the incident, the Minister extended financial help of Rs. 30, 000 and directed the officials of Electricity Department to pay an ex-gratia of Rs. 4 lakh per head to the family of the victims.
