Prospective buyers are eyeing the online auction of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) open plots in Hyderabad ever since it was announced.

So far, 1,000 names have already been registered to participate in the auction and the registrations are steadily on the rise with these plots coming with a clear title.

The buzz has increased so much that the HMDA had to extend the last date for registrations to April 18. Now, the online auction will be held between April 20 and 22 keeping in view the appeal made by prospective buyers, particularly those settled in other states and NRIs.

As a part of the auction, around 237 plots of different sizes, measuring over 1.24 lakh square yards in different areas will be up for auction of which 146 are leftover plots in the layouts, which were developed by the HMDA in the past.

HMDA Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu stated that they are expecting to generate nearly Rs 250 crore through the auction.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is making arrangements to conduct an online auction of its plots in Uppal Bhagath layout next month. In the layout, HMDA owns about 1.10 lakh square yards in over 300 plots and are expecting to generate Rs 300 crore through auction of these plots. A notification in this regard is likely to be issued shortly.
