Murder attempt on former IAS officer, five persons arrested

Five persons were arrested over an attempt made to murder a former IAS officer.

According to the police, Manjula, one of the accused had purchased properties along with her uncle, P Dayachari who was an ex-IAS Officer at her native place in Guntur and Patancheruvu but later, they developed conflict.

After failing to resolve the issue, Manjula and her brother Karunakar threatened the former IAS officer of dire consequences if the matter is not resolved.

Later on, the duo planned to kill Dayachari and consulted their business partner Venkateshwara Rao of Vijayawada, promising him to give a handsome amount for killed their uncle and gave Rs 15000 in advance.

After contacting a person named Naresh last month, they gave him the photograph of the former officer with a contract to kill him.

On April 5th, the accused attacked Dayachari with a cricket wicket during his morning walk. The victim received deep injuries on his head.

The accused were arrested and produced in the court of law following which they were sent to jail.
