Drunk man stabs father-in-law to death, leaves two others injured

A man stabbed his father-in-law to death on Thursday in Jagadgirigutta. The accused, identified as Jarnail Singh from Gurugobind Singh Colony in Yellammabanda, Jagadgirigutta near Kukatpally went home drunk and picked up a fight with his wife, Eshwar Kaur at 2.30 pm.

The argument escalated so much that Jarnail Singh went on to attack her with a pestle on her head resulting in a head injury.

The woman’s family members who lived in the same locality got to know of the assault and rescued her.

Kaur’s father, Jeevan Singh along with his son Kirpal Singh and a neighbour Karan Singh confronted the accused on the matter but he attacked with a knife.

All the three men sustained stab injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. Jeevan Singh was declared brought dead at the hospital while the other two are undergoing treatment and are said to be out of danger.

Jarnail fled from the scene immediately after the attack and police have launched a manhunt to nab him.

A murder case was registered against the accused under Sections 498, 302, 307 of the IPC.
