Hyderabad: To hasten the process for the consolidation of anti-BJP and anti-Congress forces in support of the proposed federal front, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will embark on a one day visit to Bengaluru on Friday.

During his tour, the he will hold one on one meeting with former prime minister and JD (U) president HD Deve Gowda. Amid reports that the JDU is set to play a key role in the ensuing Assembly elections in Karnataka, the meeting between KCR and Deve Gowda assumed political significance in the neighbouring state.

He will explain to the JD (U) leader the political urgency of the formation of a strong alternative to BJP and Congress involving all regional parties at the national level before 2019 elections.

According to sources, the TRS chief will also impress on Deve Gowda the necessity for bringing qualitative change in politics of the country by uniting all regional parties in the wake of growing domination of national parties led by the Union government on the states. Delegation of more powers to the states and the demand to release more funds in proportion to their contribution to country’s development will also take centre-stage in the deliberation.

The proposal to hold a national conclave inviting all regional party heads will also be discussed in the meeting, the sources said, adding that KCR is confident of getting unconditional support from the former prime minister in formation of the federal front.
