In relation to the Begumpet Task Force office blast case which took place in 2005, all those acquitted in the case have been issued notices by the Hyderabad High Court.

The 10 accused - Mohammed Abdul Kaleem alias Arshad Khan, Mohammed Abdul Zahed, Mohammed Shakeel Ahmed alias Shagan, Syed Haji aka Haji, Ajmal Ali Khan alias Ajmal, Syed Azmath Ali, Mohammed Mahmood Baroodwala, Shaik Abdul Khaja, Nafeeq-ul-Biswas, and Hilaluddin were acquitted on August 10, 2017.

As per the charge sheet filed by the Special Investigation Team, the sensational Task Force office bombing case took place on October 12, 2005 when Dalin aka Mohtasim Bilal, a member of Bangladesh-based terror outfit HuJI and resident of Bangladesh, walked into the then commissioner's TF office in Begumpet with a backpack stuffed with explosives and blew himself up resulting in the death of a Home Guard.

In a bid to avenge the death of a youth from Saidabad, Mujahid Saleem Azmi, the attack was planned. The youth was killed in firing by a team of Gujarat police outside the DGP office at Lakdi-ka-pul in 2004.

However, the prosecution failed to prove conspiracy charges and the 10 accused were acquitted and even the explosives seized from the accused didn’t turn out to be clinching evidence in the case.

The prosecution then approached the High Court against the acquittal and the Court has admitted a petition by the Telangana police against the acquittal of the 10 accused.
