Political stalwart from Nellore, unquestioned mass leader, political wizard and three-time MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy passed away after long illness at 9.30 am on Wednesday.
He was suffering from prostrate cancer for quite sometime. He was diagnosed with cancer in November 2012 and underwent treatment within and outside the country. He was even treated by eminent oncologist Nori Dattatreyudu. Last year, he went to Singapore for treatment. Since January, he has been under treatment at KIMS hospital, Secunderabad.
He visited Nellore only once in the last one year to attend his mother’s last rites. Since March 15, he has been completely bed-ridden. After a 40-day long battle, he breathed his last on April 25.
