At some places, knee-deep water was accumulated. The traffic was also brought to a grinding halt due to the sudden downpour with many commuters parking their vehicles under flyovers and shades to protect themselves from the hailstorm and strong winds.

Despite the heavy rains, the Telangana government has issued a heatwave warning in all districts for Thursday and Friday. While the day began with a maximum day temperature of 40.5 degree Celsius, a thunderstorm with gusty winds and heavy rain pounded the city in the evening.

According to the weather forecast, these pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers are expected to subside after 48 hours but on and off rains and thundershowers are set to continue.
