Work on Godavari inland waterways to begin this year: Nitin Gadkari
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday laid the foundation stone for four national highway projects amounting to Rs 1,523 crore in Hyderabad.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday laid the foundation stone for four national highway projects amounting to Rs 1,523 crore in Hyderabad.
Speaking at the occasion, he announced that they are striving to get work started on the Godavari inland waterways this year and that the project, once completed will change the economy of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Maharashtra.
The Minister further shared that the Central government will allot an initial funding of Rs 2,000 crore for this project and called upon the three states to send the proposals to procure the remaining funds at lesser interest rates.
Stating that 3,000 TMC of Godavari water goes waste, he said that the Centre is working to stop this flow of water which would be used for the benefit of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
