Woman attempts suicide over chicken

In a fit of anger, a woman tried to end her life just because her husband did not bring chicken from the market. This incident occurred in the SC, BC Colony of Markapuram in Prakasam district on Sunday.

According to the police, Lakshmi Devi of the the colony has asked her husband to fetch chicken for cooking. The husband went to the market, but came back fully drunk. He also did not bring chicken. This led to heated wordy duel between the two. In a fit of rage, Lakshmi Devi doused herself in kerosene and set self on fire.

Her family members doused the fire and rushed her to the area government hospital, where she is under treatment. The police registered a case and are investigating.
