The election commission has decided to provide new voter ID cards to these 10000 people. It may be recalled that a huge cache of voter ID cards were recovered from a flat in RR Nagar constituency seven days before the polling.

Meanwhile, a boost for the Congress, several Lingayat mutts have come out in support of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for carving out a new religion of Lingayaths.They said Siddaramaiah did not indulge in dividing Lingayat votes. They called upon the Lingayat community not to be carried away by the campaign to vilify the decision.
