PhD student found dead in lodge room, suicide suspected
A 24-year-old youngster was found dead late on Sunday in a Nampally lodge room.
A 24-year-old youngster was found dead late on Sunday in a Nampally lodge room.
According to the police, the deceased, identified as K Srinivas resided in Nallakunta and was pursuing his PhD from Pune, for the last two years.
However, it is learned that Srinivas was under severe depression for the last one year and was also undergoing psychological treatment.
Police suspect that he committed suicide by taking an overdose of insulin.
His family stated that Srinivas returned home a month ago and had been depressed for unknown reasons. He left home last Friday stating that he was going to meet his friends.
Later, he checked in to a lodge room in Lakdikapul area. The staff at the lodge alerted the police noticing a foul smell emanating from the room on Sunday. The police opened the door to find him dead. A case has been registered and the investigation is on.
