Telangana DGP appeals public not to believe in social media rumours regarding kidnapping gang
With rumours doing the rounds regarding a kidnapping gang being active in Telangana, the state police has urged public not to believe in such rumours.

Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Mahender Reddy on Wednesday appealed the public not to get worried over these rumours spread through the social media and urged the public not to attack innocent people in the name of suspicion.
Addressing media at the police headquarters in Hyderabad, he was quoted saying, “There is false news circulated on social media that some criminal gangs are active in Telangana. There is absolutely no movement of criminal gangs whether child lifters, burglary gangs, robbery gangs of chain snatching gangs.”
Stating that action would be taken against those who are spreading such false rumours, the DGP requested the citizens to inform police on Dial-100 regarding any suspicious activity, assuring that the police will be available at the earlier and take action against the miscreants.
