NIMS doctor attacked after patient's death
A female patient succumbed to death while undergoing treatment at NIMS. Following this, the family members of the patient assaulted a doctor, blaming the hospital\'s negligence for her death.

The deceased, Aruna of Medipally was admitted to NIMS on May 19 with multiple organ failure. She was on ventilator support in ICU and died while undergoing treatment. Aruna's family members picked up a heated argument with the doctor, Irfan and even assaulted him.
As he raised an alarm, the hospital security staff came to Irfan's rescue and stopped the family members from causing further mayhem.
The CCTV footage captured the attack on the doctor who was seen running from the patient's family members who were chasing him.
Resident doctors sparked spontaneous protests over the attack and boycotted duties on Wednesday.
Based on the complaint of the doctor, a case was registered. The family members also filed a complaint alleging that they were attacked by security staff.
