Telangana man attempts filmy stunt to make family accept love marriage

Taking inspiration from Bollywood movie Sholay where actor Dharmendra, in the role of Veeru climbed a water tank to seek the approval of his love Basanti (Hema Malini) from her aunt, a Telangana man on Sunday climbed a cellphone tower to win the heart of his family members requesting them to accept his love marriage.

The man, D Upendra Chary had married his girlfriend who belonged to another caste, against his parents' wishes 10 years ago. While the couple has two kids, they still yearned for the blessing of their parents.

The couple, along with their children reached his parents' house in Mothkur in this regard but once again were refused. Upset over this, Chary climbed the tower near the house threatening his parents to commit suicide.

Villagers witnessing the situation alerted the police and with their help, convinced the family and eventually Chary decided to get down. Later the family were given counselling by the police and sent back home.
