RAIPUR: On Friday the Congress president Rahul Gandhi had launched a scathing attack against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by criticizing the demonetisation scheme.

He said that all the claims of Prime Minister regarding the deal with corruption through the cash ban had failed, while the money laundering cases against Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya have brought monetary loss and embarrassment upon the nation.

On a campaign trail, in which Gandhi had addressed two meetings at Kanker and Dongargarh. While speaking at a public meeting at Pakhanjur, the Congress president said that, "Narendra Modi had made tall claims that demonetisation will cease corruption and practice of black money.

Rather, with Rafale, highest level of corruption surfaced, Nirav Modi escaped the country with over Rs 35,000 crore and Vijay Mallya vanished with Rs 10,000 crore. The money belonged to the people of the country, which could have been utilized for education of children and welfare of poor.

If at all demonetisation was a fight against black money hoarders, why wasn't any rich man seen in the long queues outside banks. Demonetization didn't benefit the citizens but only rich people and it wasn't in public interest.”

He added, "In 2014, Modi promised that each bank account will be credited with Rs 15 lakh, did it happen? He also promised employment generation to 2 crore people but failed."

Gandhi said that the chief minister has made 33 promises to the farmers but did not honour any of the promises. He then reiterated that, the Congress will waive off the farm loans within the 10 days of coming to power.

The bonus amount on the MSP and tendu leaf which is pending for the farmers would be cleared off within the few months of Congress coming to power and new agriculture universities shall be opened in Chhattisgarh.

Modi had never felt it important to waive off the loan, even after farmers have been committing suicide across the country, but Rahul said that his government made the Rafale deal of Rs 526 crore to Rs 1,600 crore only to benefit the Ambani family.

Gandhi lead a massive roadshow, later in Rajnandgaon. Rahul is scheduled to visit Bastar on November 10 and would convene a meeting in Bhanupratappur which will be followed by public meetings at Kondagaon.
