Man posing as RGIA staff booked for cheating friend in Hyderabad

A man claiming to be an RGIA employee was booked for defrauding his friend to the tune of Rs 11 lakh saying that he would arrange the gold seized at airport at cheaper price.

The accused told the victim that he was working in the airport for the past several months and knew that the custom officials at the airport. The victim in his complaint said that he contacted the accused to purchase gold for his sister's marriage and transferred Rs 11 lakh to the accused who promised to arrange the seized gold.

As the accused did not hand over the gold even after several days, the victim inquired about him at the airport and got to know that the accused was not an RGIA employee.
