Telugu youtube sensation Mastanamma of 'watermelon chicken' fame dies at 107

Karre Mastanamma who garnered worldwide attention with watermelon chicken recipe died in her native village near Tenali of Guntur district. She was 107.

Impressed by her recipes, Mastanamma's grandson K Laxman who works as a graphic designer opened a youtube channel 'Country foods' in 2016 where he included all the recipes of his grandmother. The Channel which has 2.3 lakh subscribers contains nearly 40 recipes.

Mastanamma was born in a village near Gudiwada of Krishna district as Martamma. She was adopted by a Muslim family after her father died when she was 11-year-old. Mastanamma lost her husband when she was 22 and also her four of five children. She was staying with his son David.
