Visakhapatnam :The district administration had done vast arrangements at various mandals of Southern side of the Vizag district ie., at Payakraopeta, S Rayavaram,Rambilli, Nakkapalli, Atchuthapuram .

Due to the gusty winds caused by the Cyclone Pethai many areas in the city went under dark, immediately the APEPDCL deployed their men to restore power at all the area on emergency basis and the restoration works are under progress. Some of the wirelines near Gajuwaka,Kurmannapalem and other areas of the city was damaged after big trees fallen down to the earth due to the winds.

While Joint Collector G Srijana visited the cyclone shelter arranged at Revupalem and interacted with the villagers regarding the arrangements made by the local bodies.

Later Srijana also visited cyclone shelter near Rajayyapeta village of Nakkapalli mandal and enquired about the arrangements.

All Panchayat headquarters had providing drinking water by stationing municipal tankers at cyclone affected villages. Kitchens also activated at some villages with food materials for at least to serve 3000 people along with LPG cylinders. Candles and Kerosin for incase of power failure was kept ready.

Two SDRF teams deployed at Yelamanchili and Two NDRF teams available at Vizag coastline and city. One team already at Kakinda was deployed with 100 power saws.

The forest department had instructed their men to keep charge up their power saws for emergency purpose.

All the generators and fuel tankers were kept ready near mobile towers, to ensure immediately recovered incase it is hit by the gusty winds.

All the fishermen who had ventured into the deep sea for fishing had returned to the shore safely after the fisheries department officials alerted them about cyclone
