Officials to release 5000 cusecs of water from Prakasam barrage

Vijayawada: The Water Resource department authorities are planning to release water from Prakasam barrage on Krishna River at Vijayawada on Monday. Tue reservoir reaching saturated point as the floods from upper streams are joining in the river

At present 12 feet level water is available at the barrage.

The authorities are planning to release 5 to 7 thousand cusecs of water from the barrage. The public at the lower riparian are alerted to vacate the places where inundation will take place. The places including Vijayawada, Penamaluru, Pamidimukkala, Totlavalluru, Uyyuru and other areas people asked to be alert.
