Four women were arrested by railway police on Monday for stealing bags from passengers at Secunderabad Railway Station.

The railway police said that the women have involved in half a dozen theft cases that occurred in the railway station. "The women were nabbed near the ticket booking counter on platform number one in the railway station," the police added.

The arrested women were identified as Boya Durgamma (36), Barre Sharada (45), Jyothi (26) and Badiga Bhagya (30) who hails from Shimoga district in Karnataka.

The police recovered around 45 tolas of gold worth Rs 14 lakh.
