A six-member gang was arrested on Thursday by the task force police for trying to sell a country-made gun through Whatsapp. According to Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar, Mohammed Khan, a Bihar native brought the weapon to Hyderabad and put it on sale on a Whatsapp group for Rs 65,000.
Khan bought the pistol and three live rounds from one Uday Pandey three months ago. He then informed his friend Prakash, a native of Mahbubnagar. Khan promised to offer a commission to Prakash if he finds a customer and the latter handed it to his friends Mohan, Narendra Chowdary, Nemi Chand, Ganpat Jat.
Acting on a tip-off, the taskforce police arrested the accused and seized the weapon including the live rounds.
