Hyderabad: A passenger with Rs 66 lakh worth gold has been caught by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Friday here at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad.

The passenger is learned to have arrived by Oman airlines flight WY-0239 from Dubai. The officials intercepted the man at the airport and seized the 46 gold plates concealed in the transformer of the microwave oven. The gold plates were coated with silver and attached to the oven transformer. The police officials melted the plates and recovered 2045 grams of gold.

According to the reports, the passenger received the microwave oven in Dubai and has to hand over it to a man in Hyderabad.
