Hyderabad: The Department of History, Osmania University is hosting the 39th annual session of South Indian History Congress from 8-10 February 2019 at the University Campus. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale will preside over the meet on the inaugural day.

Professor K. Arjun Rao, Head, Department of History at Osmania University also the local secretary for the South Indian History Congress said that over two thousand delegates are expected to take part in the three day event where 500-odd research articles, from Political, Socio-Economic, Cultural, Religion and, Histography disciplines are to be presented.

The Department of History is celebrating its centenary in 2019 and is one of its kind in the country with Special Assistance Program from the University Grants Commission.
