MUMBAI: Its fashion fever all over again, just like any other festive season. Among the many fashion events being held in Mumbai, The Bombay Carousal is one of them. The maiden exhibition being organised by Pallavi & Svasti, has been conceptualised as a showcase for new-age designers to show their innovative prêt-a-porter and home-ware collections.

The exhibition will take place here at The Island – Gym Studio Spa in Worli, from August 19 to August 22, 2015.

There is a line-up of as many as five hand-picked designers from across India, who will represent new talent on the fashion scene. These include Delhi–based Neha Taneja; Kolkata–based Gargi Gupta; ‘Saffron’ by Aditi from Mumbai and Sonam Parmar from Pune, along with a wide range of home and gifting accessories from Ahmedabad-based ‘Unfold’ by Nandini Thirani.

The Bombay Carousel, according to Pallavi, Co-Founder, The Bombay Carousel, is a curated shopping lifestyle forum where the focus is to seek out and showcase young talent to the right target group. “There are many such shows taking place these days in Mumbai and around the country, but the problem for young upcoming designers is that they either face difficulties getting a slot if the show is an established one, or they can get lost in the crowd in the big shows. We wanted to put together a show with a difference, so we kept it compact in order that our chosen designers get the focus and attention they deserve,” Pallavi pointed out.

The duo is focusing completely on quality rather than quantity, wherein, all the participating designers are chosen after a careful selection process. “We kept brainstorming and rejecting ideas by the dozen, till both of us decided to do something about the huge vacuum that existed between the young and inspiring niche brands. We plan to offer this as a platform for the many new-age designers in India, many of whom will be names to reckon within the fashion industry of the future,” says Svasti, Co-Founder, The Bombay Carousel.

The exhibition will be held between August 19 and August 22 at the below mentioned venue from 10 am to 6pm.
