Decades ago arranged marriages would be the only option for single Indians looking for a marriage. However, there are now more options for those from India looking to find love aside from arranged marriages. More recently, Indians are permitted to find his or herself a partner as long as their families approve their choice.

This kind of practice exists in more rural areas. In other areas Indian singles are now taking their futures into their own hands independently of their families. Therefore it is important to know about the statistics when it comes to Indian singles. We take a look at the statistics concerning single men and women living in Telangana and Andrahra Pradesh.

The female to male ratio of singles in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are striking in contrast. Our data from Facebook and Desikiss.com revealed that there is a larger proportion of male singles across all age ranges living in Telangana and Andhra.

The 18-23 years old category has the highest ratio of single women to men (20%). This is likely due to women wanting to pursue careers and other personal development projects before entering serious relationships. The high volume of single men in the 18-23 years old category is unsurprising given that men mature later than women. This usually means that men are usually ready for relationships a lot later than women are.

Data from Desikiss(Indian dating website) and Facebook also revealed that the 31-40 years old group has the lowest ratio of single women to men (just 8%). Although the Indian marriage culture is changing, pressure is still exerted upon women to get married and have children. This usually becomes prominent between the ages of 31-40 years as women reach the end of their fertility age and feel the need to be in a secure relationship.

Interestingly, the ratio of female to male singles more than doubles for the 41-65 years old category. Divorce rates are particularly low in India so this factor is unlikely to contribute towards the sharp increase in female singles aged 41-65. However, gender differences relating to life expectancy in India can account for such an increase. The average life expectancy of females and males in India is 68 and 64, respectively. Indian men tend to die earlier than women. As a result many Indian women are left widowed which explains the high number of female singles in the 41-65 years age group.

It is clear from the data that there are many Indian singles in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and this tends to vary according to age. This data is especially useful for those seeking a partner in India. Especially if you are a women looking to find other singles, then Telengana and Anhra Pradesh might be a great places to start looking.
