With over 45 designers including Wendell Rodricks and Rocky S set to present their beach wear at the forthcoming Gionee India Beach Fashion Week 2015 (GIBFW), the coastal state, with balmy weather, will soon heat up.

With names like James Ferreira and Rocky S being chosen as the finale designers for Day One and Day Two of the second edition of the fashion week, which will begin from October 29 at The Lalit Golf & Spa Resort Goa, the three-day event will be bigger and better than its previous season.

"It will be 100 percent bigger and better. There are 45 plus designers. The first edition had about 30 designers. We have a very good designer line-up this time. There are two categories - one is for the established ones that includes names like James, Rocky S, Wendell and Anupama Dayal. We are happy that we have them on board," Amyn Manji, co-founder and managing director, UVAR Global, which has conceptualised the fashion week, told IANS.

Rodricks will bring the curtain down on October 31.

The new edition will also see works of designers like Rina Dhaka, Babita Malkani, Asmita Marwah, Dimple Raghani, Urvashi Kaur, Dev R Nil, Manoviraj Khosla and Mayyur Girotra.

He also shared that there will be a "mix of new ones as well".

While one still has to wait for all their creations to be unveiled, fashionistas can expect models sashaying down the ramp in resort, swimwear and destination bride outfits at the gala.

Rocky S has put together a coalition of luxury and lavishness. The collection will also exude simplicity and elegance with a touch of sparkle. The combination of elegant embroidery with embellishment will be seen throughout the range.

"To me, clothing is a form of self expression. There are hints about...who you are in what you wear," he told IANS.

Rodricks will present his collection titled 'Ahead of the Curve' that celebrates the curved line on seams, hems, silhouette, style lines with minuscule details.

The collection will boast of impressive designs with blouses looping into arches, curved shaped trousers, tunics cut on a curve, kaftans with layered rings and sheer layers of semi-circle overskirts.

Ferreira, on the other hand, will be showing a new trend with a design inspired by Paul Christian's iconic art through ghagras, saris and kurtas coordinated with jackets, trousers and shirts.

The participating designers will also have the opportunity to connect with their buyers.

"There will be business of fashion arena where all the buyers can connect with designers," said Manji.

A display and sale arena 'Made in Goa' will be introduced for design talent specifically based out of Goa.

"We will be promoting local talent, art and handicraft through the arena. We are expecting about 25 participants," he said.

Though he said that the event will focus on business aspect of fashion, Bollywood faces like Evelyn Sharma and Richa Chadha are expected to walk the ramp in the final and most special piece, created by different designers, as showstoppers.

"We are not focusing on showstoppers though designers are free to get their showstoppers," he said.
