One of the important festivals that keep the Haryana state in a joyful spirit is the foundation day of Haryana. Haryana day is celebrated on 1st November every year. This festival is celebrated to honor the day when the state of Haryana was carved out of former state of East Punjab in 1966. This year it is the 49th Haryana Day.

On the eve of 49th Haryana day, Institute of Apparel Management (IAM) Gurgaon organized fashion photography for their students at their campus. Students of IAM dressed up in the traditional haryanavi attire which matched to the modern trends. A small cultural program was also organized depicting the rich culture and heritage of Haryana.

Mr. Somesh Singh, Director, Institute of Apparel Management said “Haryana has developed a lot in these years and seen an exponential growth be it in the field of infrastructure, hospitality or education. It is an honor to celebrate this day and Haryana’s achievements through various activities at our premises”

Students performed the cultural folk dance of Haryana. Street play was performed on the theme of recent developments in Haryana state. To add more enjoyment to the celebration there were musical performances and quiz competition for the students. Teachers and students of IAM participated actively and enthusiastically in the celebration of Haryana day.

Ms. Pooja, Student of IAM said “I feel proud to be a Haryanvi girl and I am thankful to IAM for celebrating this day with the same enthusiasm and joy as it celebrates other festivals”
