"A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman." —Melinda Gates.Women empowerment has equally become a topic of discussion along with Brad Pitt and Salman Khan in every street corner.

The other day as I was close to dead in the infamous traffic at Panjagutta circle, my attention suddenly fell on to a billboard that read: “The she teams are watching you.” That made me realise how grim the situation in our country is. But wait a minute; the good news is that there is a “she team” in other word women enforcement team that’s happening!

This is about Hyderabad and other cities, where most of the women are busy with their chores, from woman CEOs to house wives everyone has their hands full.
The big question is how we picture women empowerment. Perspective differs, to me it does not make any sense; the reason my manager is a woman and she keeps on empowering and motivating me
to make the job done every time. On the lighter side and it’s a data.
Now, let’s travel to the country side and see what is the scenario there, in simple words its annoying.
Our orthodox societal set-up hardly offers any choice to women. In fact such terms as women empowerment is Greek to them. Also, we cannot blame the societal set-up at large; most of the villages lack sustainable economies. Steps are taken by various NGOs and government agencies to work hand in hand in an unremitting effort, since the matter is so grave.
To begin with woman empowerment, I feel education can bring subtle changes; gender equality in every aspect would only flow if a girl child is given same educational opportunities like a la her male counterparts. The process has to start from a very tender age which shall bring a generation out of the narrow domestic walls of caste, creed and gender biasness.
In this pace of globalization changes are inevitable; I hope the topic “Woman empowerment” gets away from the pages in the next generation.
Well again, it is always very easy to bring out a solution verbally, over recent years we have witnessed a spurt in crimes committed against women in our country, statistics says mostly are inflicted on them for crazy reasons. The rates of acid attacks are on the rise, rapes marriage dowry and what not. Interestingly, statistics tells women own only 1% percent of the world’s land. My point of setting this example is just to bring out that it’s a man’s world it may be India, America or the Bahamas.
Woman empowerment is the need of the hour, politically, we are heading towards woman empowerment, equality and solving all the other woman related issues but that is exactly a race against time. At snail’s pace we can hardly reach anywhere. Talking about leadership roles, close to 52 percent of professional jobs are held by women, we’re substantially underrepresented in
leadership roles. Only 14.6 percent of executive officers, 8.1 percent of top earners, and 4.6 percent of Fortune 500 CEOs are women. At this rate, it’s estimated that women won’t achieve leadership parity until 2085.
All the activities that are being done for women welfare and empowerment are similar to only a
percent of good work. Ironically, in context to women empowerment which is a global concern, somewhere when we closely relate to the symmetry of the genders in our daily life there are things we all do not give any thought. Stating an example of my abode, a plentiful of situation I resisted obliging advices opined by my better-half when it comes to the competency level of my daily office slog, my reaction to it is simply a cacophony of words. We have reached out to the moon an epitome of love, we have been to mars and finally to Pluto yet we are stuck with women! Isn’t it funny and paradoxical?
We may look everywhere at improvement in developed and developing countries and wisdom women are better off than they’ve ever been, but we are such a minority. The floor is entirely different for much of the world’s women, who are suffering from the same torment, and deplorable health and living conditions that they’ve endured for centuries.
By the way the two highest IQs ever recorded (on a standard test) both belong to women.
