This adage sums up the plight of women aptly, while the world turns a deaf ear to the voice of the woman, it is time her thoughts are heard loud and clear. And what better an occasion to commemorate the spirit of womanhood than the International Women’s Day.

"A woman with a voice is by definition a strong woman. But the search to find that voice can be remarkably difficult." - Melinda Gates .

This adage sums up the plight of women aptly, while the world turns a deaf ear to the voice of the woman, it is time her thoughts are heard loud and clear. And what better an occasion to commemorate the spirit of womanhood than the International Women’s Day. The day is a tribute to the numerous achievements of women across the globe.

This year’s theme, 'Pledge for Parity' emphasizes the idea that gender equality shouldn't just be a slogan but should translate into reality too. The nation is slowly but surely inching towards this aim whether by promoting women entrepreneurs through the Make in India platform or promoting girl child education in the country. Pledge for Parity’ is indicative of expressing solidarity with women breaking the glass ceiling in different walks of life. We are seeing more women in boardrooms, the legislative assembly, global conferences, and diverse professions that were predominant male bastions.

As business leaders, we must provide further impetus to the cause of gender parity and must do our bit to educate the world on the vast pool of talent that we possess. As an entrepreneur myself, it gives me immense pleasure to see women breaking gender stereotypes and emerging winners. The country is steadily surging towards economic superpower with women beginning to play a significant role in the development of the nation. This is just a beginning to bridge the gender gap that the country experiences. I strongly believe the growth and progress of any nation depends on the empowerment of women. In order to tackle this crucial issue, we must work together and strive for equality and more opportunities for women."
