Transgender teen under sex change treatment delivers baby girl

A transgender teenager who has been undergoing hormone treatment to become a man gave birth to a healthy baby girl. The 19-year-old, Henry Steinn who has been in a relationship with his boyfriend Thorir Leo Petursson since February last year came to know about the pregnancy after he started gender reassignment treatment.

The 19-year-old, Henry Steinn who has been in a relationship with his boyfriend Thorir Leo Petursson since February last year came to know about the pregnancy after he started gender reassignment treatment. By then, Henry Steinn had already started living as a man.
The baby was born via a caesarean section and Steinn plans to continue with the sex change procedure, once the child is weaned. The couple, who live in a small resident community in northern Iceland are planning to keep their daughter's early years gender unspecific, giving her freedom when she grows up to choose her gender identity.
