November 2016 saw the re-invention of the Raymond Crossword Book Award.

More categories, mainstream participation and a packed audience.

2016 has also heralded the business re-invention of "Crossword Bookstores" , with buzzing franchise owned- company operated stores, a publishing venture called "The Write Place" and 'Yello' the now successful and hip stationery brand that the stores have been retailing for the last four years.

Kinjal Shah, CEO Crossword Bookstores says, "Book stores are here to stay. I think we have seen this happening the world over. We are launching innovative campaigns to connect with our customers; and providing experiences that customers will cherish."

One such campaign involves a series of films that Crossword will produce in 2017. The first of these was launched at the book award itself, titled, "a book never runs out of battery."

Directed by social storyteller Reeta D Gupta, the story is a fun take on how gadgets waste our time. It is told through the eyes of an 8 year old girl, who is heartbroken to see that people around her are not as hooked to books as she is.

Heres a video to the film, "A book never runs out of battery" .
