According to a study, eating nuts of all kinds can lower the risk for cardiovascular disease and coronary heart disease.

The study indicated that, compared to those who ate less than one ounce serving if nuts a week reduced their risk for heart attack and stroke by 9% and their risk for coronary heart disease by 12% eating a one ounce serving five times a week was associated with a 14% reduction in cardiovascular events and a 20% reduction in coronary heart disease claimed the study.

Nuts have a unique nutritional composition, high in unsaturated fats, fibres and minerals. They should be included as part of a healthy diet.
