From traditional dishes like rose cookies to Morden classical bakes with a healthy twist, here are some recipes that will help you amp up your festivities and earn you the tag of perfect host.
Kul Kuls
Ingredients :
1 kg maida
1/4 kg cooking butter
1/4 kg refined sooji
2 eggs
6 tbsp oil
3 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tbsp salt
1 1/2 cups boiled and cooled water
Method :
Take the flour in a big container, then add sooji, sugar and salt and mix well.Beat the eggs and pour it in the flour mixture and mix well.Melt the butter and add little by little while mixing into the flour ,Once your are done adding the butter add water in small quantities till you get a nice soft dough
Once the dough is ready, add oil and knead well ,Then take small portions of the dough and make marble size balls .Now, take a fork and roll it on the reverse side of each dough ball.Once you have rolled all the kul kuls deep fry it till its golden brown

Spicy vanilla rum almond cake
Ingredients :
3 large eggs separated into 3 egg yolks and 3 egg whites
1/2 cup castor sugar
1 tbsp white vinegar
Pinch of salt
Zest of one lemon
1 1/2 cup finely ground almond powder
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp cinnamon powder
1/2 tbsp cardamom powder
1/2 tbsp nutmeg powder
1 tbsp ginger powder
1/4 cup rum
5-6 tbsp caramel sauce
A handful of roasted raisins
Method :
Preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade ,And place a parchment paper on the bottom of a springform pan.In a large clean bowl, beat the egg whites in an electric hand mixer, starting on a low speed and gradually increasing the speed.
When the egg whites start to forth, add salt and vinegar.As they begin to increase in volume, add 1/4 cup of sugar, a little at a time and continue to beat the egg whites. Beat until soft peaks form. It will look like a meringue mixture.
In a large. Owl, beat together egg yolks lemon zest and the remaining 1/4 cup sugar until smooth.
In another bowl, whisk together almond powder spices and baking powder. Add the dry ingredients to the egg yolk mixture and beat until smooth.
Fold the beaten egg whites into the almond mixture, one large scoop full at a time. Make sure this step is followed carefully in order to create a light batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and place in the oven. Bake for about 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool. Transfer the cake to a serving plate. Spread the caramel sauce all over the cake evenly and decorate with roasted raisins.
