Finding the right doctor with low-cost treatment is always a difficult task for people these days. In the process, people visit different cities for better treatment and end up spending more on traveling and rents compared to the treatments cost.
In an attempt to guide people to the right doctor for a particular treatment within their budget, Dr Niranjan Ravuri started a helpline service ‘Caremotto’ in 2016. He set up a helpline number 040-46465656 and guided people to get exact information about their requirements and surgery cost. Speaking with The Hans India, Dr Niranjan Ravuri shared the reason why he started the initiative ‘Caremotto’.
“I came across many patients who visit hospitals from long distances and waste their money on consulting numerous hospitals for treatment costs and processing.
I interacted with several patients, and most common problem was that they didn’t know how to find the right doctor for a treatment. I get five calls every day from people asking details of various treatments. That is when I decided to do something for them and started ‘Caremotto’ in 2016 with my friends,” said Dr Niranjan
“Caremotto is India’s first dedicated portal where patients can learn about and schedule surgical procedures at our exclusive network of partner hospitals. We aspire to make the healthcare industry more transparent by bringing in choice and clarity to the decision-making process,” added Dr Niranjan Ravuri.
Started by highly experienced healthcare professionals and engineers, Caremotto aims to help patients make well-informed decisions and plan their treatments to ensure high-quality outcomes.
He shared, “We help patients find the best doctors at state-of-the-art hospitals for second opinions as well as surgeries at competitive prices, before taking a decision that suits their expectations and budget.
Through us, patients save time, energy, money and the emotional labor that goes into finding a doctor suited for them. With personalised care at the center of our approach, we enable our patients to take control of their health decisions and go through the process without stress,”
Until today, more than 2 lakh people have contacted Caremotto for suggestions. It has guided 4,600 patients for second opinion and 1,049 surgeries have been done on its suggestions. They are also partnering with many hospitals to set up a fixed price for surgeries. People can avail their services in more than 100 hospitals in the two Telugu states.
Caremotto team is also organising the crowdfunding programmes to help poor people. “For people, who do not have money for treatments, we associate them to crowdfunding agencies to help them. We post about their problems on social media and collect money from them. Many people are coming forward to help these poor people after witnessing our efforts,” He informed.
Fixing prices for every treatment is not possible and it varies from one to another. “Caremotto started with four members and now expanded to 26 members. We always have three doctors on board to guide people for the right treatment. Fixing surgery prices for treatments like heart diseases and cancer is difficult but we are trying to fix them in near future with the help of several hospitals,” shared Dr Niranjan Ravuri.
Caremotto also won the ‘Game Changing Idea’ award in 2016. “We are also planning to work with the government to provide better services. Till now, our services are available in Telugu states and in the coming days, we plan to expand our services for cities like Bangalore and Chennai as well,” He concluded.
