It is a well-known fact that it takes more muscles to frown than to smile, a clear weapon to make someone laugh their sorrows away. Laughing, one of the primary emotions felt by the human body is the key to a happier and stress-free life.

Laughing, one of the primary emotions felt by the human body is the key to a happier and stress-free life.

An instant mood lift and better productivity always follows a hearty laugh. It is like a trigger to the happy corner in your brain activity.

As more and more people know that laughter can have positive effect on their human body, people all around the globe are initiating events to make laughter a part of everyday life. Hence came into play the ‘World Laughter Day’. Celebrated on the first Sunday of every May, it all began back in Mumbai on the 11th of January, 2011, when this day was first celebrated with about 12,000 members making it a huge success.

The next international session was held in Copenhagen on the 9th of January marking the inception of this day. Every year, cities all around the world armed with the best laughter clubs have now made it an official day to celebrate a heartfelt emotion!
Celebrating the World Laughter Day is as easy as smiling, with hundreds of people gathering in a public place and laughing their hearts out for the sheer joy of it.

It is said that the shortest distance between two points is a smile but, in this case, the curve of a smile has now joined more than 105 countries in this celebration of laughter through more than six thousand Laughter Clubs. What began as a Laughter Club, has now brought the world together for a non-racial and non-profit cause with only happiness behind it.

Laughing brings with it numerous healthy advantages too! A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals.

Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.

Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
