Are you a New joinee? Your work place might be exciting to you. Your colleagues and your manager may be warm and friendly but still you have to be extra cautious in the beginning as you are a new joinee at the workplace. You need to understand how the system works at the workplace how your colleagues present themselves during working hours. First impression always carries the best one. To develop a rapport among your colleagues you need to follow few guidelines. You need to avoid few things in the first month of your job.

Don’t try to know everyone and everything

Don’t try to know about everyone and everything at the first place. Don’t try to ask questions about others and know about others profiles as to what they do what they get and avoid such gossips. You would develop a negative impression among other colleagues and your team mates might find it very irritating. Try having a proactive work approach and discuss only work related queries which might in return fetch you a positive impression.

I know it all attitude is a big No

In a professional world learning should always be a constant in your life. Never carry I know it all attitude. It is a secret recipient of stunning your professional growth. And might be an indicator of arrogant and over confident attitude.

Watch out before criticising

Sarcasm might be fun among peer group but not always. Be friendly while conversing with colleagues. But be very careful before commenting or cracking sarcastic comments. Take time to understand people around you and what kind of jokes they appreciate. Take my word it’s not rocket science.

Try to be balancing

Never take the advantage of flexible work hours from day one of your new job. Conduct yourself professionally, and reach and leave office on time. Never extend your lunch hours and take frequent coffee breaks. After spending at work place for few days you will understand how to adjust your hours flexibly.

Never try to judge your co-workers immediately after joining

It’s too early to judge on your co workers. Like you would expect your team mates not to form any negative impression about you. You need to do the same for them as well. Try staying calm and don’t judge any one. Observe, understand and take your time to make a perception about any one.
