Mumbai: Google org grantee, Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust, a disability and education-centric not for profit organisation based out of Mumbai in association with Essilor Vision Foundation and Titan Eye Plus is continuing its charitable work to distribute 10000 free premium quality spectacles to Mumbaikars.

600 Mumbai Police personnel will be screened for eye measurements at S.R.P.F. Ground, Goregaon East, in Mumbai on 27th and 28th June 2018, between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Rajiv Mehta, Trustee of Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust explains, “A Collaborative approach to social impact is the way forward. Ratna Nidhi is proud to be partnering with Essilor Vision Foundation & Titan Eye Plus to make vision10000 a reality.”

A part of its Vision 10,000 initiative, this is the 2nd in a series of screening camps, that will evaluate prospective donees, for eye number measurements. The first camp was at Ratna Nidhi’s Mahalaxmi Medical centre on 22nd May 2018. "Beneficiaries of this first camp will receive ready spectacles with fine quality lenses in July this year at Ratna Nidhi and Rotary Worli Medical Center in Mahalaxmi,” added Mr Mehta.

Sandeep Karnik DIG, SRPF says “Ratna Nidhi is providing an end-to-end solution; not just screening but also the spectacles. This is very valuable to our police staff, and we are hoping to take this to other centres across Maharashtra as well."

As a further service, under its Vision10000 initiative, Ratna Nidhi in association with Vision Foundation of India, Babulnath, will also organise free cataract surgeries for those who need it.
