In our country, Children’s Day is celebrated on November 14 every year to show respect to the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru who was born on this day.

Nehruji was fondly called Chacha Nehru (Uncle Nehru) who was known for his love and affection towards children. After his death on May 27 1964, it was unanimously decided to celebrate his birthday as Children’s Day or Bal Diwas in India. On this day, schools organize different activities for students such as games, cultural activities, competitions etc. The government bodies pay tributes to the late Prime Minister.

Google is also celebrating this special day by dedicating a special doodle on the occasion.
