venkaiahMahabubnagar: Bharatiya Janata Party former national president Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu expressed concern over the challenges the country is facing today and said that unemployment was growing by leaps and bounds. Addressing the 'Praja Chaitanya Sadassu' public meeting here on Saturday, he said that the Congress party was not thinking about the welfare of the country. He attributed the cause to the weak leadership in the Congress party which was resulting in not taking proper decisions. Recalling that it was the BJP which created many small States in the country, he said that the BJP would support if a bill for Telangana was introduced in Parliament. He said that Telangana would become reality, if BJP assumed power after next general elections. The present power crisis in the State showed that the State government has no vision and no proper plans, he said. BJP state president Kishan Reddy wondered whether there were governments in various States. He said that the people throughout the country strongly believe that the BJP would provide a stable and efficient rule in the country after 2014 elections. He expressed concern over the huge power cuts in the villages and even cattle were not getting drinking water in rural areas. He said that the development was tangible in the BJP-ruled States. Referring to the strange situations prevail in the State, he said that there was plenty of water in Krishna and Godavari but people have no drinking water, coal and gas deposits were abundant in the State, but the State was not in a position to use them. Expressing concern over the large scale migration of people from Palamuru district looking for livelihood, he attributed it to the government failure. Confirming that the BJP was committed to the small States, he said that Chattisgarh was backward when it was formed, but it is now well developed. BJP MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy, district party president Ratang Pand Reddy, Nagurao Namaji, and others BJP leaders attended. Sizable number of party activists participated in the meeting.
