Jadcherla MLA Erra Sekhar, who is facing the charge of murdering his own brother Erra Jaganmohan, surrendered before the superintendent of police Nagendra Kumar here on Monday after his attempts to secure anticipatory bail from the district court and the High Court proved futile.
Four others accused in the same case surrendered before the SP on Sunday night. SP Nagendra Kumar, presenting all the surrendered accused persons before the media here on Monday, said that the accused Erra Sekhar had intentionally and with a pre-meditated plan murdered his own brother Erra Jaganmohan with a licensed revolver.
Recalling the incident of the murder, the SP said that Bhavani, wife of Erra Sekhar and Ashrita, wife of Jaganmohan, filed the nomination papers for the sarpanch post of Pedda Chintakunta village. However, Erra Sekhar asked his brother to tell his wife to withdraw her nomination papers. When the nomination papers were not withdrawn, Erra Sekhar fired two rounds at his brother Jaganmohan killing him on the spot on July 17. The SP said that since then Erra Sekhar had gone underground and surrendered to the police on Monday. The revolver used for killing Jaganmohan was also seized, he added.
