Farmers stage rasta roko for second day for seeds

Narayankhed (Medak): Farmers here on the second day Saturday also staged dharna and observed rasta roko before the Agros office demanding immediate supply of subsidised seed for which the permits were given a week back. They gheraoed the Assistant Director of Agriculture stating that they have been hanging around Agros and Growmore every day since morning but there were no supply of seed. SI Jayaprakash reached the spot and tried to pacify the agitating farmers but to no avail. Circle Inspector Nandiswar Reddy reached the spot. The farmers and CPM leaders argued with the police officials for some time. The police officials pacified the farmers and assured that they would hold talks with the higher officials. The farmers in large numbers went to the tahsildar officer and started arguing with the Assistant director of Agriculture.
