How close to truth exit polls are, which indicated that KCR will romp home?

The TV channels in their bid to get higher TRP rating are telecasting opinion and exit polls, felt some of the respondents. It is nothing but making mockery of democracy because the pre-poll surveys and exit polls have become a business proposition for some agencies and individuals. It may be possible that the TRS may retain power, said some respondents, because the new State needs a leader like KCR. Majority of respondents felt that the TRS may return to power because of development activities and welfare measures. But the respondents in Hyderabad city dismissed the exit polls as bogus and they did not reflect the realities. They said the exit polls are an exercise in smoke and mirrors
With prominent national media predicting Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)’s victory, it appears like that K Chandrashekar Rao will romp home. However, in the past we have seen exit polls going haywire. As of now, people’s voice is in favour of TRS retaining power. Only a miracle could save the Congress-led People’s Front, it appears. - K Srilatha, private lecturer, Hanamkonda
Barring that survey conducted by the former Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, the exit poll results suggest that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would win hands down. The Congress-led Praja Kutami (People’s Front) is nowhere near to form the government as per the national media’s predictions. A few days ago, People’s Front appeared favourite to win the elections, but by the Friday’s polling everything was changed. - G Kumar, private employee, Kazipet
Exit polls are very close to truth. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is going to form the government. According to exit polls by India Today the ruling TRS will get 79 to 91 seats, Congress 21 to 33, BJP 1 to 3, and others 4 to 7. exit polls by Times Now predicted 66 for TRS, 37 for congress, 7 sets for BJP, 9 for others. - N Jiternder Reddy, businessman, Adilabad
Telangana Rashtra Samiti supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is all set to form the government. It s not my opinion, most exit polls predict return of KCR. There is a very very positive mood among people towards the party. The people of Telangana want TRS to come back to power again to continue the development activities and welfare schemes - Uday Kumar Ratnazaday, businessman, Adilabad
I think the exit polls, which indicated that KCR will romp home, are close to truth. TRS leaders, including KCR, have claimed that they will definitely win more than 100 seats. The fight between the TRS and the opposition parties appeared to be tough intially. But a day before and on the day of polling, the scenario had changed. All the exit polls show that the TRS is winning the elections. - Kanaparthy Santhosh, self-employed, Karimnagar
We should wait till the day the election results are declared to know the authentic results. In the past the opinion and exit polls were conducted in a scientific manner. But now they are being conducted to play a mind game to influence the voters. So, there is no need to pay attention to the exist polls. We have to wait till December 11 for official declaration of results. - R Narsimha, private employee, King koti
In my view, national channels and survey were not close to truth. The polls were manipulated and gave more number of seats to the TRS. Poll percentage across the State was high. The voters, including the women, senior citizens and youngsters, enthusiastically exercised their franchise. The high percentage of voting shows anti-incumbency factor. There was a huge dissatisfaction among the people against the government. - R Ganesh, student, Hyderguda
I think the TRS may emerge as single largest party. It may form the government with the support of MIM. KCR will become Chief Minister once again. The TRS may retain power in the State. The new State needs a leader like KCR. - Murali, electrician, Nalgonda
It has become a practice for some TV channels trying to get higher TRP rating through exit polls. Sorry to say that the exit polls are making a mockery of democracy. - Amarnath, welder, Nalgonda
