Devarakonda tense after communal clashes

Tension gripped Devarakonda following a communal clash between two groups on Tuesday. It's worth mentioning here that members of two communities got into a fight yesterday over hoisting religious flags. They attacked each other with stones. Four persons, including a local politician was hurt during the clash, reports said.

The police on Wednesday tightened security arrangements in the region to maintain law and order. The cops are also on the lookout for the miscreants responsible for inciting riot-like situaion. The police imposed prohibitory orders to in view of the Bakrid celebrations.

It is learnt that the festive prayers passed off peacefully. Nalgonda district police deployed additional forces to keep situation under check.
