A Mumbai-bound bus from Bangalore caught fire a few hours after leaving the city. Seven people, including a child were charred to death in the tragedy.

Of the 49 passengers on board the private luxury bus, 41 managed to jump out of the burning bus after breaking the window glass. There were two drivers in the volvo both of whom suffered burns but fled the scene in the same state.

Hunt is on to nab the duo. Reports say that the tragedy struck around 3 am Thursday when the volvo hit a divider near HAveri district in North Karnataka. As a result the diesel tank burst and the bus engulfed in flames.

It may be recalled that only a few weeks ago a similar accident happened to a bus heading towards Hyderabad from Bangalore. However, the passengers of that bus were not so lucky. All the 45 members on board were burnt to death in thr gruesome incident.

The passengers on the Mumbai bus were alerted by the sound of the explosion. However, a two-year-old kid and six people could not escape death, while some others sustained minor burns.

The bus is owned by National Travels. The police is trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased which is an impossible task given the fact that most bodies are burnt beyond recognition.

Those who sustained minor burns were rushed to nearby hospital in Haveri while some others are being treated at KIMS Hospital in Hubli.
