This is making many wonder whether there is any truth in PM Manmohan Singh's statements or is he taking refuge under coalition politics exposing his helplessness.

The Prime Minister cannot be faulted with as the DMK immediately withdrew support to the Government the moment its party ministers Raja and Kanimozhi were arrested.

No one can deny the fact that the UPA government has lost all its reputation with many of its ministers getting tainted in more than 10 high profile scams. Even the earlier NDA Government is no different with the coffin scam and many others.

People can see coalition compulsions when CBI changes its undertakings in courts regarding corruption cases on SP, BSP and RJD leaders. This is however not to say that coalition compulsions alone are leading to rampant corruption.

If that be the case then Bofors scam and many other scams wouldn't have happened. Everyone knows that when Bofors happened, Congress was ruling the Country with more than 2/3 majority in the Parliament. Ever since independence, politicians stashed millions of dollars of money in Swiss banks and all that was not due to coalition politics as coalition era started only two decades back.

Overall, corruption is the result of individual greed and then many greedy individuals turn politicians it corrupted the entire system. People who detest them cannot bring change as entire election system got corrupted and work hand in hand. Unless individuals reform themselves and follow some moral values vowing not to encourage corruption, it can be uprooted.

Change should come in the people, which ultimately changes the society and in turn the system.
